INTEGRATION & UPGRADES · UK-WIDE

BMS integration and controls upgrades.

Connect usable systems, improve visibility and modernise the controls around your building. Retain what works and upgrade where it adds practical value.

Building systems often operate separately, making schedules, faults and performance harder to understand. Antler assesses the installed controls and available interfaces before proposing how systems can work together.

THE SERVICE IN PRACTICE

Make more of the systems you have.

The right upgrade starts with understanding the existing installation. Depending on that assessment, the scope can include:

01

Assess the installation

Review the existing controls, plant and available interfaces. Identify what can be retained, what can be connected and where replacement or further investigation is needed.

02

Connect building systems

Bring relevant heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting and metering information into a coordinated controls platform, subject to the equipment and interfaces available.

03

Modernise the controls

Upgrade controllers and interfaces where the existing arrangement no longer meets the building requirements, rather than assuming a complete replacement is always necessary.

04

Coordinate timings and operation

Bring schedules and operating requirements into the control design so the systems can respond to occupancy, time and temperature as appropriate to the installation.

05

Improve visibility

Make relevant operating information, alarms and historical trends available through the agreed platform, helping your team understand what the equipment is doing.

06

Commission the changes

Test and commission the agreed upgrade and local configuration. Discuss the monitoring and maintenance arrangements needed to support the revised system.

INTEGRATION FIRST

Retain useful infrastructure.

An upgrade can focus on the part of the system that needs attention. We assess the controls and plant together so the proposal is shaped around usable equipment and the improvements you need.

  • Existing plant and controls are assessed before a scope is accepted.
  • Available interfaces determine what can be connected.
  • New equipment is specified where required.
  • The proposed changes are explained before the work is agreed.

COMPATIBILITY MATTERS

Connect on a sound technical basis.

We work predominantly with Tridium's Niagara 4 framework and integrate a range of equipment. Connections can use supported protocols such as BACnet and Modbus where those interfaces are available. Compatibility must be assessed for the actual devices and installation.

  • Heating, cooling and ventilation systems.
  • Lighting and energy metering.
  • Controllers, sensors and field interfaces.
  • Other building-system interfaces where agreed and supported.

SPECIALIST INTERFACES

Work alongside the right specialists.

Where a project includes interfaces with fire, security or access-control systems, we work alongside accredited security and fire-safety providers. The BMS interface and each specialist responsibility are agreed for the installation.

THROUGH THE SYSTEM LIFECYCLE

A route to clearer operation.

The aim is a practical controls improvement: more coordinated systems, useful operating information and a support arrangement that fits the building. Monitoring and maintenance can be discussed alongside the upgrade.

BEFORE YOU ENQUIRE

Your questions.

Do we have to replace the whole BMS?

Not necessarily. We assess which parts can be retained and integrated, and identify what needs changing to meet the requirements. The recommendation depends on the actual installation.

Can you upgrade a system installed by another company?

We can consider it after assessing the system. The available equipment, interfaces and condition determine what we can reasonably propose and support.

Can every controller be connected?

No universal compatibility is assumed. We assess the actual controllers, supported interfaces and the requirements before agreeing an integration scope.

Discuss your existing controls.

Tell us the system or controller type if known, the building location and the improvements you need.
